Jeffrey H. Harris

Dr. Jeffrey H. Harris is currently the Gary Cohn Goldman Sachs Endowed Chair in Finance at American University’s Kogod School of Business. He has an extensive background in market microstructure and regulatory issues.  He is former Chief Economist at the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, working previously at Nasdaq, the U.S. SEC, and other universities.

John Vogel, ESQ

John Vogel is senior counsel at Crowell & Moring, Washington, D.C.  John represents U.S. and foreign companies in conventional and Islamic financing transactions involving real estate investment, leasing and infrastructure projects, restructurings, privatizations, project financings, and domestic and cross-border joint ventures. He has represented foreign investors in the acquisition, management and disposition of U.S. real property and other assets.

David W. Zukowski

Mr. Zukowski brings over a decade of public sector experience to the American Center for Alternative Finance. David holds a Master of Business Administration from American University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Government from the United States Coast Guard Academy. While at American University he studied Islamic Finance. David is a military veteran and served his country leading teams deployed overseas in countering transnational organized crime operations. David is passionate about exploring financial innovations to ensure free and fair markets work for all people.
